In the deep forests of Westland, where ancient stories breathe through the land, a battle ignites between progress and protection.Maxine, a young Māori lawyer, returns home to fight a massive resort development threatening the fragile Rowi kiwi and the ecosystem she grew up loving. Standing in her way is powerful developer Ashton Winter—along with the town’s bitter divide.

Reunited with her childhood sweetheart Dan, now a local fisherman with loyalties pulled in two directions, Maxine faces rising tensions, old feelings, and dangerous opposition. Guided by the spiritual strength of Ana, whose whakapapa ties her to Māori royalty, the protest group refuses to give up—until even the courts fail them.

When all legal avenues close, the community must turn to faith, unity, and the power of nature itself. A story of love, land, and the fight to protect what cannot be replaced.
